Stills for Music video

These are some of the stills i intend to use in my music video;

For This image i had the idea of starting on the full picture, but then have it zoom/cut in towards the "HERE" on the top of the building. The zooming in being intended to focus in on the "here and now" because, the song is about time and how some things may or may not change and the word 'here' represents the place in time and/or location - as the person singing the song is singing about things change in relation to what they are like now to what they were like and will be like.

For this shot i also have the intention of creating a sequence that zooms in, but this time on the question mark as i feel that during some parts of the song, it asks rhetorical questions which conote the unsertenty or hesetent atitude of the charicter portrayed to be singing the song.

I also feel that the zooming in will continue the movement or motion of the other clips that i have shot for this music video, rather than just having a sill and nothing happening - it will just be like a regular slide show of images and that will not keep the audience interested.

Music Video Update

Since Selecting the song that i will be using for the basis for my music video, i have decided to cut down the music itself as it was originality 4:30 long. I have since shortened it down by about a minute to make it more manageable to make a music video around.

This is the new Shortened version;

Song Choice & Lyrics

Ten More Years - The Library Suits

One year and it’s not quite as clear
Ten Year, and we’ve got no idea
But I know
I think we’ve heard it before
And I know that if it hurt last time
It’ll hurt this time

Call home in 1984
I still believe in the future
Even with lessons lost
Wake up in 1789
I still believe in the future
But I won’t put my trust in time

One week and it means less to me
It seems the thoughts went committed to my memory
I think we’ve heard it before
And I know that if it hurt last time
It’ll hurt this time

Call home in 1984
I still believe in the future
Even with lessons lost
Wake up in 1789
I still believe in the future
But I won’t put my trust in time

Ten Years from now
Will you remember me?
Or am I just a fragment of your history?
Ten years from now
Will I remember me?
And all the things that I believed in

Ten Years from now
Will you remember me?
Or am I just a fragment of your history?
Ten years from now
Will I remember me?
And all the things that I believed in

Call home in 1984
I still believe in the future
Even with lessons lost
Wake up in 1789
I still believe in the future
But I won’t put my trust in…
But I won’t put my trust in time

Why has there been an increase in the amount of festivals in the UK?

The amount of music festivals has increased in the UK because of the proliferation of technology enables people to illegally download artist’s music, which has also been driven by the lifestyle culture of consumerism - having the newest and best music. This has caused the revenue streams of the bands and the corporate body’s that support them such as the record labels that they’re signed, to drop. This has caused them to think of new ways to regain costs lost through illegal downloads. One of the ways thought up to do this was to start music festivals. To further maximise the revenue from these festivals, they have been diversified to segment the market into separate festivals to appeal to different audiences within the more mainstream identities. This will inevitably leave some niche audiences uncatered for leaving gaps for the smaller festivals such as the more upmarket and boutique festivals. All of this segments the market by the different genres of music and collects the people who like similar genres into groups by festivals, as well as helping to create the social groups that people can identify with.

3 Music Videos i Find Interesting - Part 1

1). Buffalo By The Phoenix Foundation

I Find this video interesting because of the juxtaposition it takes from the lyrics - Here -  of the buffalo in a ocean, and the way it modifies it to a boy. Also the way it shows unusual surroundings that is lyrics create.

Locations For Filming our Music Video

Plantation Gardens

Mousehold Heath

Eaton Park
Chaperfield Gardens
For our Music video for the song "Information" by Brian Korteling we have been thinking of filming it in a outdoor location such as a bandstand. For this we have come up with a few locations such as Chaperfield Gardens, Mousehold Heath bandstand or Eaton Park.
I Also came up with another location in The Plantation Gardens.

We Also had the idea to film in front of the EDP/Evening News building to fit in with the title of the song "information"
